2000 1 Oz Rufo Mind of Man Round BU

This fairly rare round was issued to commemorate the new millennium.  It is similar to a large 16 Oz round issued by Highland Mint but it is unknown at this point whether this was also issued by Highland Mint.

Obverse: The design on the obverse was taken from the "Walking Liberty" design by Adolph A. Weinman, and is used for the American Silver Eagle. It depicts a full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Above the image "LIBERTY" is inscribed and the phrase "IN GOD WE TRUST" can be found in smaller letters to the right. The date is located beneath the central design.

Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is a representation of "The Thinker" by Rodin.  Surrounding the central figure are images representing great achievements in the fields of medicine, flight (airplane and spaceship), and atomic energy.  A bird flying at the upper right carries a banner that reads "RUFO/CM" which may represent the designer Cesar Rufo.  The upper inscription along the outer rim reads "FROM THE MIND OF MAN ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE"  while the lower inscription bears the date "JANUARY 1, 2000".  

Edge: Most of the edge is reeded but there is a small portion that is smooth which denotes the purity and content of ".999 FINE SILVER".
