Website Update - 2022 Q4

Website updates can often be bland or boring, ranging from a simple list of accomplishments to in-depth technical specifications. It is my hope that these quarterly updates will be both informative and useful to everyone. Additionally, these updates provide a snapshot of the website as well as a forum to discuss improvements. While the Silver ‘Round the World website may appear to be complete, it is a work in progress and there will always be new items for the inventory. Here are some of the updates that took place from October to December of 2022:

Mints/Categories – One of the purposes for the website is to highlight the history of mints which produced vintage rounds.  Where possible, I try to identify and research which mints produced which rounds. Three new mints (Enviromint, International Mint, and Avalon Mint) were identified and added to the website this quarter and rounds from these mints were listed in the inventory. Enviromint produced many sports rounds during the 1980’s and 1990’s. International Mint was in operation during the early 1970’s and produced a couple of fractional sets. Avalon Mint was in operation during the 90’s and minted high quality investment rounds. Categories are created on the website in order to enhance search capabilities.  New additions to the categories include St. Helena Miscellaneous (for Non-Spade Guinea Series), Avalon for Avalon Mint products, Second Arrow Silver, and Vintage 2020’s rounds. Categories and mints are added when necessary as the inventory is updated.

Features/Improvements – During the past few months, two big enhancements were built out on the website. The blog was implemented and can be accessed via the listings on the home page or accessed here. Venmo is now accepted as a payment option. When checking out, it will be one of the payment options. Payment can be made either using the QR code or the Venmo Id. Finally, all mintages in applicable categories and listings have been updated through 2022.

Inventory – 112 products were added to the inventory over the past quarter

To Do List – Add inventory of vintage silver rounds, fractionals, vintage bars, and collectible gold and platinum; develop CashApp module for payments; work on Grading page; consider implementing and displaying Rarity factor for rounds and coins

    It’s ok with me if you’re very selective (I am). I have fractionals and vintage coins too. I have several from Mexico, and a bunch of rare coins from Israel.
