1998 1 Oz RJ Reynolds Camels Are Here Round BU

RJ Reynolds created several 1 Oz .999 silver rounds in the mid-1990s.  They were created as merchandising/advertising items. The company issued camel cash which could be exchanged for advertising merchandise.  There are 3 known rounds, one with the face of Joe Camel (issued in 1993), and a set of 2 rounds issued in 1998.  The set has a round stating "The Camels are Coming" and a second one with the phrase "The Camels are Here".  All rounds were issued with 1 Oz of .999 silver.  It is unknown who minted the rounds on behalf of RJ Reynolds.

Obverse: The central image on the obverse is an engraving of a camel. The word "CAMELS" is inscribed at the top. A statement beginning on the left reads "TOMORROW, THERE'LL BE MORE CAMELS IN THIS TOWN THAN IN ALL ASIA AND AFRICA COMBINED!"

Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is a virtually identical engraving of a camel.  As opposed to the obverse, the background is smooth.  The phrase "CAMEL CIGARETTES" is inscribed above the image and is completed by "ARE HERE!" found beneath it.  A package of cigarettes is depicted on the right. A micro-inscribed text of "RJRTC" is at the round's bottom.
