United Jersey Bank began as The People's Trust of New Jersey in 1934. It changed its name to United Jersey Bank in 1975 and operated as such until its merger with Summit Bank in 1996. In 1985, the United Jersey Bank commissioned an advertising round to commemorate the opening of its headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey. The mint and the mintage of the round are unknown but it is uncommon.
Obverse: The obverse depicts the New Jersey state bird, the Eastern goldfinch, and the state flower, the purple violet. The only text on the obverse is an upper inscription that reads "UNITED JERSEY BANKS".
Reverse: The central image on the reverse is an outline of the State of New Jersey. To the right of the outline is the date "MAY 1985" while the logo of the United Jersey Bank is found on the left. The phrase "GARDEN STATE SALUTE" is inscribed along the outer edge, with part at the top and part at the bottom.
