1994 1 Oz Lake Havasu Dollar Round BU

This coin program was implemented to honor the relocation and reconstruction of the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City and provide a fund-raising vehicle for the many charitable and community projects of the London Bridge Rotary Club. The club released the first coin, the "Havasu Dollar,” in October 1971. The coin was so well received by the community that the Club decided to continue the project. A new London Bridge Rotary Commemorative Coin has been released every October since 1971. The coin program ended with the release of the 50th edition coin. Coins are released in bronze, silver-plated, .999 Fine Silver, and gold-plated .999 Fine Silver. The mint and mintages are unknown but low since the serial number is only 3 digits.

Obverse: The 1995 Lake Havasu Dollar commemorates the 25th Anniversary of the U.S.A. Moon Landing and the 30th Anniversary of the Founding of Lake Havasu City. The scene at the top depicts the planting of the American flag on the moon. The text "JULY 20, 1969 THE MOON WALK" is inscribed beneath. The London Bridge is depicted at the bottom along with the text "25 YEARS". The phrase "1831 LONDON BRIDGE 1971" divides the two scenes. At the upper rim is an inscription that reads "ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND". The text "LAKE HAVASU CITY, ARIZONA" is inscribed along the bottom rim. 

Reverse: The central image on the reverse is the rotary symbol flanked by the dates "1994" and "1995". The text immediately above the symbol states "1965 / 25 YEARS / MAN ON THE MOON". Underneath the central image is the phrase "30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF LAKE HAVASU CITY ARIZONA". Two phrases are inscribed along the outer rim.  The upper one states "24TH ISSUE OF THE HAVASU DOLLAR" while the lower one reads "LONDON BRIDGE ROTARY COMMEMORATIVE COIN".  Four stars on either side separate the inscriptions.

Edge: The edge is reeded except for a flat surface at the bottom which bears a 3-digit serial number.
