Busch Gardens in Tampa commissioned exclusive rounds to sell in its gift shops. The first offering from 1987 was the Giant Panda. It was limited to a mintage of 5,000. This was followed by the Lowland Gorilla in 1992 with a mintage of 10,000. The mint for these rounds is unknown.
Obverse: The central image on the obverse is of a gorilla walking along the ground through vegetation. The species of the gorilla "LOWLAND GORILLA" is inscribed beneath the image and the name of the park "BUSCH GARDENS" is located to the upper left.
Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is text relating to the issue which states "1992 BUSCH GARDENS IS DEDICATED TO THE PRESERVATION OF WILDLIFE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD". The background for the text is intersecting latitude and longitude lines which represent the globe. Around the outer edge is the phrase "EXTINCTION IS FOREVER". The weight, purity, and content of "ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" is micro inscribed below the central text.
