Description
Obverse: The main image on the obverse is a rocket to the left and a hand to the right reaching up towards a star-studded sky. A portion of the American flag is depicted below. Two lines of text are engraved at the top reading "IN MEMORY OF CHALLENGERS 7 CREW MEMBERS" followed by "REACHING FOR THE STARS".
Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is a rocket leaving the orbit of the earth. The upper inscription reads "5IL - CHALLENGER" while the lower one reads "FIRST IN FLIGHT TRAGEDY - JAN 28, 1986". The names of the seven astronauts are inscribed around the central image.
Edge: The edge is smooth. An inscription bearing the purity and content of ".999 FINE SILVER" can be found along the edge as well.
