Description
SilverTowne minted several train-related rounds. Most can be found with the engravable blank back or the eagle reverse. The eagle reverse is less common. Mintages are unknown, but all rounds are uncommon.
Obverse: The obverse features an old steam locomotive. The upper inscription reads "AMERICAN STEAM LOCOMOTIVE 4-4-0 TYPE". A lower inscription states the time period "CIRCA 1860".
Reverse: The reverse design has an eagle perched on a branch. The weight and purity designation of "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" across the top, while the scripted SilverTowne trademark logo is found beneath the eagle's talons. The location of the mint, "WINCHESTER INDIANA" is inscribed on the left.
