1986 1 Oz SilverTowne HWI 40th Anniversary Round BU

Hardware Wholesalers Inc (HWI) was a hardware, lumber, and construction co-op based in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. It now goes under the name of Do It Best. In 1986, the company commissioned SilverTowne to produce a silver round commemorating its 40th anniversary. The mintage is unknown.

Obverse: The central feature on the obverse is the company logo "HWI" inside an oval. The phrase "40TH ANNIVERSARY" is inscribed at the top while the dates "1946-1986" can be found on a banner at the bottom. 

Reverse: The reverse design has an eagle perched on a branch with the weight and purity designation of "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" curved around the top of the piece along with the SilverTowne trademark logo beneath the eagle's talons. The location of the mint, "WINCHESTER INDIANA", is inscribed on the left.
