Description

NWTM produced a series of replica half-dollar rounds. While the mintage is unknown the serial number on the edge is only three digits. The date these were minted is unknown but they were minted with .999 Fine Silver.

Obverse: The obverse depicts the area of the first European settlement in Maine, with Brown's Garrison, the Saco River, and four sentries before the fort, with one of them mounted on a horse. Beyond the fort is the rising sun, and amid the rays is the word "LIBERTY" and below the fort is the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Around the rim is an inscription bearing the purity, and content. It reads "COMMEMORATIVE .999 FINE SILVER". The weight of "1 TROY OUNCE" is located at the bottom.

Reverse: The reverse depicts the York County seal, a shield bearing a cross. The pine tree in the shield's upper left symbolizes the state of Maine. The anniversary dates "1636" and "1936" are on either side of the shield, with "IN GOD WE TRUST" below it. Around the rim are the phrases "YORK COUNTY" at the top and "FIRST COUNTY IN MAINE" at the bottom.

Edge: The edge is reeded except for a flat surface at the bottom which contains a 3-digit serial number.
