1 Oz NWTM The General Train 1862 Round BU

NWTM produced at least two rounds depicting events from the Confederate States during the Civil War. Both rounds have the common reverse of General Stonewall Jackson on a horse. One obverse depicts a bust of Stonewall Jackson The second one portrays "The General" train which was commandeered by Union troops in 1862. While the mintage is unknown, the serial number on the edge is only three digits. 

Obverse: The obverse of the coin features "The General" train which was commandeered by Union troops during the Civil War. The name "GENERAL" is inscribed at the top while the lower inscription denotes the location of the event "KENNESAW (BIG SHANTY) GEORGIA". Four stars separate the inscriptions along the outer rim. 

Reverse: The reverse contains three concentric circles with the innermost depicting General Stonewall Jackson riding a horse. Within the second circle, a laurel wreath surrounds the central image. The outer circle contains the upper inscription of "THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA: 22 FEBRUARY 1862" and the lower inscription that reads "DEO VINDICE". 

Edge: The edge is smooth and bears two inscriptions. The inscription at the top of the round denotes the purity of ".999". The bottom of the round contains a 3-digit serial number.
