1 Oz NWTM Rhode Island Half Replica Round BU

NWTM produced a series of replica half-dollar rounds. While the mintage is unknown the serial number on the edge is only three digits. The date these were minted is unknown but they were minted with .999 Fine Silver.

Obverse: The obverse is based on the seal of Providence showing Roger Williams kneeling in a canoe, his hand raised in signal of friendship. The Narragansett Indian who greets him has his hand extended, palm down, meant as a native sign for "good". Behind the Narragansett is a stalk of corn as a reference to the help and friendship that the Indians had shown to the Mayflower Pilgrims in establishing the Plymouth Colony. The Bible in Williams' other hand symbolizes the colonists' contribution to America. The Sun is rising in the background, symbolic of Rhode Island being the first colony where religious liberty was guaranteed. "LIBERTY" is the theme of the design and appears over their heads. Around the rim is the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST", "RHODE ISLAND", and the dates "1636" and "1936".

Reverse: The reverse depicts the Anchor of Hope, taken from Rhode Island's state seal. The motto "HOPE" symbolizes the authority of the state government, while "E PLURIBUS UNUM" evokes that of the federal government, as it is a national motto. Around the rim is an inscription bearing the purity, and content. It reads "COMMEMORATIVE .999 FINE SILVER". The weight of "1 TROY OUNCE" is located at the bottom. 

Edge: The edge is reeded except for a flat surface at the bottom which contains a 3-digit serial number.
