2003 1 Oz Highland Mint Pope John Paul II 25th Anniversary Round PF

Issued to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the papacy of Pope John Paul II. Minted with a proof finish. Uncommon round.

Obverse: The central image on the obverse depicts a right-facing profile of Pope John Paul II. His hands are folded in an attitude of prayer. The upper inscription reads "POPE JOHN PAUL II". 

Reverse: The reverse features the dome of the Vatican. The years of the papacy, "1978" and "2003" are located to either side to the image. An upper inscription states "25TH ANNIVERSARY SILVER JUBILEE". 

Edge: The edge is reeded except for a smooth surface at the bottom. The composition of ".999 FINE SILVER" is inscribed on the smooth surface.
