Obverse: The central image is the American Flag. The text "OPERATION DESERT STORM" appears at the top while the date "JAN. 16, 1991" is inscribed at the bottom. Inscribed below the date is the purity and content of ".999 FS".

Reverse: The central image on the reverse is the seal of the United States Airborne. The upper inscription reads "AIRBORNE" while the lower one bears the motto of "ALL THE WAY". The weight of "ONE TROY OZ" is inscribed immediately above the seal. An inscription below the seal denotes the purity and content of ".999 SILVER". A micro-inscription at the bottom of the round contains the letters "TCL".
