1988 1 Oz Enviromint Rose Bowl MSU Round BU

Possibly minted by Chicagoland Processing Corporation (CPC) which held MLB and NFL rights for commemorative medals during that era. Issued to commemorate the NCAA teams that were playing in the 1988 Rose Bowl.

Obverse: The central design on the obverse is the logo and mascot for Michigan State University. They are known as the Spartans. The initials of the university "MSU" are inscribed below the logo. The date of the game "JANUARY 1 1988" is inscribed around the outer rim. 

Reverse: The central design on the reverse is a stylized rose, the official logo for the Rose Bowl. An upper inscription reads "ROSE BOWL" while a lower one states "PASADENA TOURNAMENT OF ROSES". A micro-inscription denotes the weight, purity, and content and reads "1 TROY OZ .999 FINE SILVER".

Edge: The edge is reeded except for a smooth surface at the bottom that contains a 5-digit serial number.
