The South Carolina Masonic Lodge commissioned this round to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Masonic Lodge in South Carolina. The date, mintage, and mint are unknown and the content doesn't indicate the reason for the minting. The round does have a limited mintage and is quite rare.
Obverse: The central image on the obverse is the compass along with the all-seeing eye. These images are surrounded by a laurel wreath. The outer circle bears the upper inscription of "COMMEMORATING 250 YEARS" along with the lower inscription that reads "SOUTH CAROLINA". The date "1737" is located to the left while "1987" is found on the right.
Reverse: The reverse depicts the square and compass, the Bible, the Masonic handshake, and the all-seeing eye. The inner inscription reads "WISDOM UNION STRENGTH". The outer circle contains the inscription of "THE GRAND LODGE OF ANCIENT FREE MASONS OF SO CA".
