2017 1 Oz Great Lakes Bullion Round PF

Great Lakes Bullion partnered with Mayer Mint to create these rounds which celebrate the People, Natural Resources, and Spirit of the Great Lakes Region. Not much is known about the mint. This round was sold at the 2017 FUN Show in Florida. They did issue another round in 2016 depicting a bird. The rounds are minted with a proof-like finish. Rare round.

Obverse: The obverse features the history and tradition of the Great Lakes as an untamed frontier. The Great Lakes are centrally featured along with surrounding historic trade routes. Each circle represents a population center built upon the trade and commerce its proximity to the Great Lakes afforded. Phrases along the outer rim read "GREAT LAKES BULLION" along with the composition of "1 OZ .999 SILVER". The date of "2017" is located at the bottom.

Reverse: The reverse captures the spirit of the Great Lakes with a tribute to the proud pioneering history of the trappers, fur traders, and frontiersmen of the Great Lakes. The central image depicts moose and elk. A banner above the animals reads "IN GOD WE TRUST" while the Roman numeral date of "MMXV" can be found underneath. Phrases along the outer rim state "LAND OF THE FREE", "EST. 2015", "HOME OF THE BRAVE", and "GREAT LAKES BULLION"..
