2004 1 Oz Poarch Creek Peace Round BU

This round was minted under the official authorization of the Poarch Creek Indians in Alabama.  This is one of a series of eight rounds that were minted between 2004 and 2007. Two rounds were minted per year. The mint for the rounds is unknown. 

Obverse: The obverse features an Indian brave on horseback gesturing in a sign of peace.  A rifle rests across his lap. The word "PEACE" arches across the top while the date "2004" is inscribed to the left. The designer's name, "A. SHAGIN" can be found at the bottom.  

Reverse: The reverse features the coat of arms of the Poarch Creek Indians. It consists of two sticks in the shape of a cross with feathers hanging from the left and the right. The upper inscription reads "CREEK NATION OF INDIANS" with "ONE DOLLAR" denomination located at the bottom.
