2016 1 Oz AOCS Silver Shield Trivium Girls Round BU

Obverse: The obverse features three women who represent the hope of a new future. The Trivium Girls represent three disciplines with Lady Rhetoric on the right, Lady Logic in the middle, and Lady Grammar on the left. Together, these women direct the world toward a closer connection with truth and guide mankind along the right path. The upper left inscription reads "LISTEN TO ALL" while the inscription on the upper right states "FOLLOW NONE". The lower inscription simply contains the word "TRIVIUM".

Reverse: The round’s reverse presents the Trivium of Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric upon which a classical education was based. Grammar (Observation) is the rational and unemotional observation of symbols, situations, or facts that allow truth to be observed. Logic is processing the current set of facts and logically thinking about what will be the logical consequences or the best course of action in light of the observation. Rhetoric is the ability to tell either yourself or others of your observation and your line of thinking. The Trivium is the three-step thought process that breaks the slave thought and allows the individual to become their highest and best self. Above the trivium, the phrase "SILVER SHIELD" can be found while below it is inscribed the weight, purity, content, and date of "1 TROY OUNCE 2016 .999 PURE AG". A circle frames the central motif and the text and stylized sun rays decorate the outer edge of the circle.
