1991 1 Oz California Crown Mint Texas Round BU

Rare CCM silver round.  From 1986 through 1991, CCM minted this round celebrating the state of Texas. None of the years are common, but 1986 is seen more often.  The mintages are unknown. 

Obverse: The obverse of the round depicts the obverse of the Great Seal of the State of Texas. It consists of a star of five points, encircled by olive and live oak branches. The words "THE STATE OF TEXAS" are inscribed at the top. The weight, purity, and content of "ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" can be found inscribed along the lower rim.

Reverse: The reverse depicts the reverse side of the Great Seal of Texas. It consists of a shield, the lower half of which is divided into two parts. On the shield's lower left is a depiction of the cannon of the Battle of Gonzales and on the lower right is a depiction of Vince's Bridge. The upper half of the shield depicts the Alamo. The shield is circled by live oak and olive branches and the unfurled flags of France, Spain, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the Confederate States of America, and the United States of America. The motto "REMEMBER THE ALAMO" is located at the top of the shield while "TEXAS ONE AND INDIVISIBLE" can be found at the bottom. Above the shield centered between the flags is a five-pointed star. The words "TEXAS SILVER" are imposed on the star and the date "1991" is found at the bottom.  The micro-printed mint mark of "CM" is located underneath the shield to the right.
