1986 1 Oz Sunshine Mint Texas A&M SW Conference Champions Round BU

Sunshine Mint produced this round in 1986 to commemorate Texas A&M's Southwest Conference Football Championship and their victory over Auburn in the Cotton Bowl. This round was not mass-produced and had to be specially ordered from Sunshine Mint. Although the mintage is unknown, it is quite rare and only a few examples are known. 

Obverse: The central image on the obverse is a football player running while carrying a football. The university logo "ATM" is inscribed to the left, and the date "1985" is located at the bottom. The name "TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY" arches across the top of the round. 

Reverse: The reverse lists Texas A&M's football schedule along with the scores for each game. The phrase "1985 SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS" is inscribed above the table. The lower inscription reads "1986 COTTON BOWL CHAMPIONS" and lists the score of the bowl game played against Auburn.

Edge: The edge is smooth with an inscription centered at the bottom. The inscription reads "1 TROY OZ. .999 FINE SUNSHINE ® SILVER."
