Although there is no mint mark, the reverse with the trade scales was designed and used by the Sunshine Mint on many of its rounds in the 1980s. It is an uncommon silver trade unit round.
Obverse: The central image on the obverse is the famous image from Albrecht Durer's painting "Praying Hands". Around the edge are the inscriptions "PRAYING HANDS", "ALBRECHT DURER", and the date "1508".
Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is the trade scales, an image found on many trade unit silver rounds. The weight "ONE TROY OUNCE" is inscribed at the top flanked by sprigs of ivy to either side. Immediately above the scales the additional weight of "31.1 GRAMS" can be found. Directly below the scales is an inscription denoting the purity and content of ".999 FINE SILVER". The phrase "SILVER TRADE UNIT" can be found on the outer circle below the inscription specifying the purity.
