1 Oz California Crown Mint Hexagonal Eagle/Trade Round BU

Rare CCM hexagonal silver "round". Same design as the round but has no mint mark.

Obverse: The central image on the obverse is an eagle depicted in front of the liberty bell bell. Inscribed above the image is "AMERICA AMERICA".  The lower inscription bears the weight, purity, and content of "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER".  A star on either side separates the upper and lower inscriptions. The mint mark of  "CCM" is inscribed to the left of the bell.

Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is the scales, a common motif found on many trade unit silver rounds.  Sprigs of ivy flank the scales to either side.  The inscription located at the top is "THE INTERNATIONAL" and it is matched by "SILVER TRADE UNIT" which is centered at the bottom.  The content of "ONE TROY OUNCE" is inscribed below the top inscription and the purity of ".999 FINE" is inscribed immediately above the scales. The mint mark of "CCM" is located directly below the central image and directly below that is the weight of "31.1 GRAMS".
