1 Oz AMC Oliver North Great Seal Round BU

AMC produced many different rounds in the 1980s. This round features Oliver North, a controversial political figure.

Obverse: The obverse depicts Oliver North dressed in his military uniform. The phrase "THE SILVER STAR" arches across the top, while his name "OLIVER NORTH" is inscribed in smaller letters to the right. A five-pointed star can be seen on the right.  

Reverse: The reverse design features the heraldic eagle with a shield, an olive branch in the right talon, and arrows in the left, all echoing the Great Seal of the United States. The eagle holds a banner in its beak, which is inscribed "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Above the eagle are thirteen five-pointed stars arranged in a circle representing the Thirteen Colonies. Inside the circle is the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST". The upper inscription reads "GREAT SEAL OF THE UNITED STATES". The purity, weight, and denomination of "1 TROY OZ .999 FINE SILVER" is located below the eagle. The phrase "MADE IN USA BY AMC" is located at the lower right.
