1 Oz AMC Etoile Sailing Ship Round BU

AMC produced many rounds in the 1980s. One series they produced depicted famous sailing ships. Among the honored ships were the Belle Poule, the Etoile, and the Cynara. This series is quite rare. 

Obverse: The obverse depicts the Etoile, a French naval schooner built in 1932. The name "ETOILE" is inscribed to the left, while the description "TWO-MASTED TOPSAIL SCHOONER" is found along the edge at the right. 

Reverse: The reverse design features the heraldic eagle with a shield, an olive branch in the right talon, and arrows in the left, all echoing the Great Seal of the United States. The eagle holds a banner in its beak that is inscribed with "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Above the eagle are thirteen five-pointed stars arranged in a circle representing the Thirteen Colonies. Inside the circle is the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST". The upper inscription reads "GREAT SEAL OF THE UNITED STATES". The weight and composition of "1 TROY OZ .999 FINE SILVER" is located below the eagle. The phrase "MADE IN USA BY AMC" is located at the lower right.
