Description
Fourth year of the Quokka series, which began in 2020. Last year with Queen Elizabeth obverse. A special obverse was created for the final year.
Obverse: The obverse portrays the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is the longest-reigning monarch in British history, surpassing her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria I for the title. This sixth-generation design from Jody Clark of the Royal Mint was created in 2018. The rim inscriptions differ for the final year of the Queen Elizabeth obverse. The upper inscriptions read "ELIZABETH II", the years of reign "1952-2022", and "AUSTRALIA 2023". The lower inscription at the left denotes the weight, purity, and content of "1 OZ 9999 SILVER", while the right inscription specifies the face value of "1 DOLLAR".
Reverse: The reverse features a quokka sitting on its hind legs amid vegetation. The name "QUOKKA" arches across the top, while the mint mark "P" is located along the outer rim to the right.
