2010 1 Oz APMEX Remember 9/11 Round BU

Minted in late 2010 by APMEX to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Obverse: The obverse features the World Trade Center towers and the surrounding New York skyline. The phrase "0848 &0906 11 SEPTEMBER 2001" arches across the top. These are the exact times when Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower and Flight 175 hit the South Tower. The word "REMEMBER!" is inscribed underneath the image. 

Reverse: The central feature of the reverse is the Pentagon flanked by the five branch seals of the United States military. The phrase "0943 11 SEPTEMBER 2001" arches across the top. This is the exact time flight 77 hit the Pentagon. The word "REMEMBER!" is inscribed underneath the image. The stripes of the American flag provide the backdrop for the scene. The purity and content of ".999 FS" is micro-inscribed at the center of the round.
