Obverse: The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The queen's title "ELIZABETH · II · D · G" is inscribed to the left. Along the rim to the right is the Latin inscription "REG · FID · DEF". The denomination of "2 POUNDS" is located at the bottom. The artist's initials "IRB" are located below the neck of the monarch.

Reverse: The reverse, created by Christopher Le Brun, features Britannia seated, holding a trident and an olive branch, with a lion at her feet and cliffs in the background. She is shown guarding the British shores, looking out to sea towards a sailing ship. The design also includes an oval Union Jack shield propped at her side. The weight and composition of "ONE OUNCE FINE SILVER" is located along the rim to the left, while the name of the series "BRITANNIA" is on the right. The date "2007" is inscribed at the bottom.
