2014 1 Oz Great Britain Britannia Mule ERROR BU

This is a major error and quite rare, with only 17,000 thought to be minted. The error is on the obverse. The rim should have denticles like the reverse. Instead, the obverse die from the Lunar series that contained no denticles around the edge was used.

Obverse: The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The queen's title "ELIZABETH · II · D · G" is inscribed on the left. Along the rim to the right is the Latin inscription "REG · FID · DEF". The denomination of "2 POUNDS" is located at the bottom. The artist's initials "IRB" are inscribed below the neck of the monarch.

Reverse: The reverse depicts the standing Britannia figure designed by Philip Nathan. It shows a female figure on a rocky promontory, wearing a Corinthian helmet, her robes billowing out, caught in a sea wind. She holds a trident in one hand, honoring Britain’s naval prowess while the other hand carries an olive branch with a round shield bearing the Union Jack symbol. Inscriptions around the rim starting at the bottom left contain the name of the series "BRITANNIA", the year "2014", and the weight and composition of "1 OZ .999 FINE SILVER". The artist's last name, "NATHAN" is inscribed at the bottom.
