1999 2 Oz Australian Lunar Series 1 [Rabbit] BU

This was the first year the Lunar series was produced in silver.  With a mintage of 12,869 this is one of the key dates for the 2 Oz size.

Obverse: The obverse depicts the Jody Clark design of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Royal Diadem crown on her head. She is encircled by text around the outer rim which includes her name "ELIZABETH II", the name of the issuing country "AUSTRALIA", and the face value of the coin "2 DOLLARS".

Reverse:  The motif is the lunar animal of the particular year. To the left of the motif, the date "1999" is inscribed while a Chinese symbol representing the lunar year is located at the right. The inscription beneath the motif contains the weight, purity, and content of "1 OZ 999 SILVER". The background has a smooth, frosted finish.
