The 2008 coins featured the Year of the Mouse. This is one of the key dates of the series with the third lowest mintage. This coin was issued in 2007.
Obverse: The obverse depicts the Jody Clark design of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Royal Diadem crown on her head. She is encircled by text around the outer rim which includes her name "ELIZABETH II", the name of the issuing country "AUSTRALIA", and the face value of the coin along with the year minted "1 DOLLAR 2007".
Reverse: The motif is the lunar animal of the particular year. To the left of the motif, the date "2008" is inscribed while a Chinese symbol representing the lunar year is located at the right. The inscription beneath the motif contains the weight, purity, and content of "1 OZ 999 SILVER". The background has a smooth, frosted finish.
