1985 1 Oz Johnson Matthey Alaska Anniversary Round BU

Rare Johnson Matthey round.

Obverse: The obverse of round shows the state flag of Alaska flying over a snowcapped mountain.  To the left, a dogsled team can be seen mushing its way across the landscape.  "ALASKA" is inscribed above the flag and the date "1985" is inscribed below it.

Reverse: The reverse of the round is the standard reverse found on many Johnson Matthey rounds.  The name of the mint "JOHNSON MATTHEY" is inscribed at the top.  The central portion is taken up with the inscription "ASSAYERS REFINERS/1 OUNCE TROY".  The phrase denoting the content "FINE SILVER" is inscribed immediately below that in large scripted letters.  The purity of "999" is located above the letters "ER" in that phrase.  Johnson Matthey's mint mark of two squares, one containing a "JM" and the other containing a pickaxe and hammer inside of an oval, is found at the bottom.
