1984 1/2 Oz St. Gaudens Round BU

Rare round!  While the manufacturer of this round is unknown, it was produced for several years in the 1980s. This round exists with dates 1983, 1984, and 1986. 

Obverse: The obverse depicts Lady Liberty holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other as she strides across a rocky outcrop. Behind her are the United States Capitol and the rays of the sun. The word "LIBERTY" is inscribed at the top. Stars decorate the outer edge around the central image.  The date is inscribed at the lower right.

Reverse: The reverse is an eagle in full flight carrying an olive branch in its talons. The weight of "1/2 TROY OUNCE" is inscribed at the top. The purity and content of ".999 FINE SILVER" is inscribed to the lower right of the eagle. The phrase at the bottom reads "SILVER TRADE UNIT" and is separated from the upper wording by a star on either side.
