Although undated, the True Value Hardware advertising round has the reverse that World Wide Mint first used on its American Eagle rounds. This reverse reads "World Wide Mint" instead of "American Eagle". The "American Eagle" reverse replaced the "World Wide Mint" reverse sometime in 1981. This round may have been minted for the True Value Hardware buying convention that took place in April 1982. Rare round!
Obverse: The central image on the obverse is the True Value Hardware logo. The logo is an oval with the words "TRUE VALUE HARDWARE STORES" written inside. Above the logo is an inscription reading "COTTER AND COMPANY", the parent company for True Value Hardware stores. The location of the corporate headquarters "CHICAGO, ILLINOIS" is inscribed at the bottom.
Reverse: The reverse features an eagle perched on a rock with sun rays in the background. The weight of "1 Oz" is inscribed to the left while the purity and content of ".999 FINE SILVER" can be found on the right. The name of the mint "WORLD WIDE MINT" is inscribed at the top.
