Draper Mint produced a variety of Swiss of America rounds in the early 1970s. There were several different obverses and reverses paired together. The obverses depicting the Swiss Alps had 3 varieties: stylized Alps (type 1), slightly less jagged and more detailed Alps (type 2), and jagged Alps with prominent "gashes" (type 3). The type 1 obverse is also used as a reverse on at least one round. The type 2 obverse is considered to be transitional and only found with a 1974-dated reverse. The four most common reverses encountered are the 1973 Draper Mint reverse; the 1974 Draper Mint reverse; and two undated reverses, both denoting the silver weight and composition. One has a star while the other bears the text "SWISS OF AMERICA". The undated "SWISS OF AMERICA" reverse is found on the chunky, rolo rounds. This is a more uncommon Draper Mint round.
Obverse: The Type 1 obverse depicts a stylized image of the Swiss Alps in the background. The words "SWISS OF AMERICA" are inscribed over the image. The perimeter is decorated with a series of dashes.
Reverse: The reverse is simple and contains only text. The weight of "ONE OUNCE" arches across the top while the name "DRAPER MINT" is inscribed at the bottom. The central text states the composition of ".999 FINE SILVER". The date "1973" is located below the central text.
