1 Oz Elvis Presley Fans Tribute Round BU

This round was issued to commemorate Elvis Presley. The mint, mintage, and date of issue are unknown. The round is scarce. 

Obverse: The central image on the obverse is a left-facing portrait of Elvis Presley. The length of his hair suggests that it is from his later years. The inscription above the image states "FANS TRIBUTE TO ELVIS". The dates "1935" and "1977" are located at the bottom separated by a crown. Sheaves of wheat decorate the rim at the lower left and lower right. 

Reverse: Much of the reverse is taken up by a poem written by Thomas Thorp in 1977.  It reads "FOREVER IN OUR THOUGHTS YOU'LL BE, THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL! YOU HAVE SURELY FOUND YOUR DESTINY, YOU HAVE ATTAINED THE HIGHEST GOAL!". Sheaves of wheat decorate the upper left and upper right portions of the rim. The weight, purity, and content of "ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" is inscribed at the bottom.
