Obverse: The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This bust of Her Majesty was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England and depicts the Queen with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on her head. The initials "IRB" are located just below the image. Also below the image are inscriptions of "1 OZ 999 SILVER" and the denomination of "FIVE DOLLARS". A "tuluma", a traditional Tokelauan carved wooden “tackle box” used by local fishermen, is depicted below the denomination. A cross in the center of the tuluma and the inscription in the banner below "TOKELAU MO TE ATUA" reflect the strong influence of Christianity in Tokelau. Around the effigy is the monarch's legend "ELIZABETH II" and the date of issue "TOKELAU 2022". The outer rim is decorated with a geometric pattern.
Reverse: The reverse depicts a stylized owl in flight. Above the owl is the name of the series "OWLS". Below is the inscription "AUSTRALIAN MASKED OWL" indicating the particular owl being honored. The rim is decorated with floral motifs.
