Obverse: The obverse features a silhouette of the feminine personification of Germania. Lady Germania stands in a daring pose on the bow of a sailing vessel as she leads her people on a journey into broad waters. Traditionally, crowned with a laurel wreath, she is clad in her armor and falling cloth. In her hands, she wields the imperial sword Reichsschwert. Behind her, a flag flutters in the wind. Along the rim to the right the inscription "GERMANIA 2021" can be found. The purity, weight, and content of "• 1 OZ AG 999.9 •" is inscribed on the left.

Reverse: The central image on the reverse is the logo of the mint, comprised of the bicephalous eagle, the shield, and the laurel wreath. The inscription below the logo is "GERMANIA", the name of the series. A denomination of "5 MARK" has been placed above the central image.
