2023 1 Oz Germania Mint Allegories Round BU

Harder to find lower mintage round.

Obverse: The obverse depicts personifications of Galia and Germania, who are shown as young and beautiful women. They stand together, joining their hands as a sign of victory. Their swords are sheathed after the battle and the debris of the defeated Roman Empire lies beneath their feet. The inscription "ALLEGORIES" can be found along the rim to the left. The purity, weight, and content of "• 1 OZ AG 999.9 •" are inscribed on the right.

Reverse: The central image on the reverse is a coat of arms representing moral principles and noble values. The crowned shield has been divided into four parts. The shield itself is a symbol of truth, loyalty, and trust. The crown equals authority and nobility as well as chivalry. The upper left quadrant depicts a bicephalous eagle with heads facing opposite directions symbolizing the past and the future. The checkered pattern refers to wisdom and prudence. The gold ribbon with three flowers represents unity, integrity, and freedom. The wild boar symbolizes mightiness. A wreath made of oak leaves surrounds the Coat of Arms and represents loyalty, stability, and national unity. The upper inscription reads "GERMANIA", the name of the series. The year "2023" is inscribed directly below it. A "5 MARK" denomination is located at the bottom.
