2018 1 Oz Somali Elephant 15th Anniversary MS70

Rare coin in a top grade.

Obverse: The obverse depicts the coat of arms for Somalia. The coat of arms consists of a shield with a single star that is being held by two upright leopards, which are standing on large crossed spears below them. “SOMALI REPUBLIC” is inscribed above the shield, and the face value of "100 SHILLINGS beneath it. The year the coin was minted, "2018", is split on either side of the shield, with the first two digits to the left and the last two to the right.

Reverse: The reverse features the elephant from the 2004 coin, standing and asserting its dominance, and the elephant from the 2018 coin, a close-up of an adult elephant with its trunk reaching towards the first elephant. Above the elephants' heads are the dates 2004 and 2018, with the number 15 in between. The phrase “AFRICAN WILDLIFE” is inscribed at the top, while “ELEPHANT” can be found at the lower left. The weight and composition of "1 OZ AG 999.9" are inscribed at the lower right.
