2018 1 Oz SilverTowne SASOL Mega Project Alligator PF

The SASOL LCCP Mega Project was a large petrochemical construction project in Westlake, Louisiana. Fluor built it as an ethane cracking plant. The construction lasted 22 months and was completed in 2019. In 2018, the company commissioned SilverTowne to produce rounds that could be awarded to employees who demonstrated exemplary safety actions during the construction project. SASOL’s Silver Coin Awards Program recognized individuals who demonstrated behaviors that sustained the vision of zero harm to employees and sought to maintain a zero-incident project. Four different designs were minted, each depicting native wildlife in Louisiana. The wildlife designs included an alligator, geese, deer, and bass. The mintage is unknown, but all rounds are rare. Probably less than 100 of each design were minted.

Obverse: The obverse features an alligator sunbathing on the bank of a marsh. A pair of Cypress trees can be seen in the background. Text arching across the top reads "ONE TEAM • ONE GOAL • ZERO INCIDENTS". The lower inscription reads "ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY". 

Reverse: The central feature on the reverse is a map of Louisiana with a star representing Westlake.  Underneath the map is the name "WESTLAKE, LA". Text arching across the top reads "SASOL LCCP MEGA PROJECT". The lower bears the company name "FLUOR TECHNIP INTEGRATED". An inscription bearing the weight, purity, and content of "1 OZ .999 FINE SILVER" is at the upper right.
