Limited mintage of 2,500. Colorized obverse.

Obverse: The obverse design features a front-facing male gorilla staring intently ahead. Arched over the gorilla’s image is the inscription “CONGO SILVERBACK GORILLA”. A lower inscription of "2016 1 OZ 999 SILVER" denotes the date, weight, purity, and content.

Reverse: The reverse side of the coin features the official coat of arms for the Republic of Congo. "REPUBLIQUE DU CONGO" is inscribed above the coat of arms while the denomination, "5000 FRANCS CFA" is inscribed below.
