2011 1 Oz American Mint Justice Operation Geronimo Round PF

Rare American Mint solid silver round.  Issue a part of the 10th Anniversary 9/11 celebration. Limited mintage.

Obverse: The obverse depicts an American soldier in full battle gear accompanied by a stirring quote from President Obama. The insignia for Seal Team VI, the unit responsible for neutralizing Osama Bin Laden, is inscribed at the lower left. The upper inscription reads "JUSTICE". The name of the mission, "GERONIMO EKIA", is found at the lower left. The weight and content of "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" are inscribed at the lower right.

Reverse: The reverse is the standard reverse designed for this series. An eagle with outstretched wings perches on a block with the inscription "09/11 2001". The Pentagon framing the Twin Towers provides the backdrop. Laurel leaves surround the central images. An outer circle bears the inscription "THE AMERICAN SPIRIT" at the top and the phrase "REMEMBERING 9/11" at the bottom. The purity of "999" is inscribed on the left and the mint mark for the American Mint is found under the eagle's right wing.
