1 Oz SilverTowne J W Harris Eagle Branch Round BU

J.W. Harris was a company based in Cincinnati, OH which manufactured brazing and soldering alloys and welding consumables. In 2006 it merged with Harris Calorific to form Harris Products. In the 1980's the company would give out advertising rounds as rewards for performance. At least three versions of this round are known to exist, one with the Eagle and Flag obverse, one with the Trade Scales, and one with the SilverTowne eagle. All three versions have the same obverse. The mint and mintage are unknown but the rounds are uncommon. The motifs seem to place the rounds in the 1980's.

Obverse: The central image on the obverse is the logo for the company. The name "J.W. HARRIS CO. INC." is inscribed at the top along with a star to the left and the right. The location of the headquarters, "CINCINNATI, OHIO" is found at the bottom. Along the outer edge above the seal is the phrase "DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY".  Inscribed below the seal is "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". 

Reverse: The central image on the reverse is the SilverTowne eagle sitting on a branch. The upper inscription denotes the weight, purity, and content of "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER".
