Description
Although no mint designation is present, this "Big Rig" design and other Mexican-themed coin replicas were identified from a 1980s Golden State Mint catalog. Several different obverse/reverse pairings of Mexican-themed rounds have been found. The Una Onza Eagle reverse is also paired with a Ferias Y Palanques obverse. The round is rare.
Obverse: The obverse features a semi truck driving down the highway. A sunset, palm trees, and a sandy beach provide the backdrop. No text is found on the obverse.
Reverse: The reverse depicts the familiar Mexican motif of an eagle with a snake in its claws. Mountains rise in the background. The weight of "UNA 1 ONZA TROY" is inscribed to the right, while the composition of ".999 PLATA PURA" is found on the left. A simple geometric pattern decorates the edges.
