1/2 Oz National Collectors Mint Isabella Quarter Round BU

Rare round with limited mintage.

Obverse: The obverse features a crowned bust of Queen Isabella of Spain, facing left. The date 1893 is located in the right field behind Isabella's head. The left rim bears the phrase "COMMEMORATIVE" while the purity and content of "999 FINE SILVER" are inscribed along the right rim to the right of the date. The coin was designed by Charles Barber who also was responsible for designing the Columbian half dollar.

Reverse: The central feature of the reverse is a kneeling woman holding a distaff in her left hand and a spindle in her right hand. The inscription “BOARD OF LADY MANAGERS” is inscribed across the top while the weight of "COLUMBIAN HALF TROY OUNCE" is located at the bottom. The two phrases are separated by stars. The reverse was designed by George Morgan.

Edge: The edge is smooth and bears a 4-digit serial number beginning with the letter "K". Each round is individually numbered.
