2019 1 Oz Niue Czech Lion BU

The Niue Czech Lion is the Czech Mint's first foray into bullion products. This limited mintage series began in 2017 and is intended as an investment. Since Niue had secured the rights to issue Czech bullion coins, this series is minted under those rights. This is the 3rd year of issue with a mintage of 8,000.

Obverse: The obverse features a detailed rendering of Elizabeth II in profile, set over another recognizable symbol of the Czech nation, the Linden branch. On the rim at the right is the name "ELIZABETH II" and the date "2019". The rim at the left contains the issuing country "NIUE ISLAND". The denomination of "2 DOLLARS" is found at the bottom.

Reverse: The reverse was inspired by the traditional symbols of the Czech Republic. These are the two-tailed lion, the St. Wenceslas crown, and the flaming Saint Wenceslas Eagle. The image is that of a proud and intricately fashioned lion, guarding the crown and shield of St. Wenceslas. The weight and purity of "1 OZ AG 999" are found at the top while the phrase "CESKA REPUBLICA" is located at the bottom.
