Obverse: The obverse shows the Ian Rank Broadley portrait of QE2 over the national symbol of Tokelau, the Taluma. Inscribed around this is the Queen's name, state of issue, date, denomination, and purity. Beginning from the 9 o'clock position the inscriptions read "ELIZABETH II", "TOKELAU 2014", and "~FIVE DOLLARS 1 OZ 999 FINE SILVER~".
Reverse: The reverse of the coins in the series are detailed, yet simple. Each animal is depicted in a natural habitat and the images contain finely engraved details. A mare and her foal are seen standing in a field of tall grass. The only text found on the reverse is the date of "2014" which is located in a rectangular box towards the upper left of the coin.
