2013 1 Oz Ukraine Archangel Michael BU

Low mintage and hard to find.

Obverse: At the top is a small coat of arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription "НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ" (National Bank of Ukraine). At the center of the coin, inside an octagonal cartouche, there is a shield with the emblem of the National Bank of Ukraine. The year of issue, "2013", is located directly below the shield. The fineness and content of "AG 999.9" is inscribed to the left while the weight of "31.1" is inscribed on the right. The denomination is inscribed at the bottom. The value for the one-ounce silver coin is "ОДНА ГРИВНЯ" (one hryvnia).

Reverse: Depicted is the Taxiarch Archangel Michael. He is depicted here as a warrior, wearing full armor and holding a sword in his right hand. There is the circular inscription "…ЗА НАС І ДУШІ ПРАВЕДНИХ, І СИЛА АРХІСТРАТИГА МИХАЇЛА". The phrase comes from the Ukrainian poem "Haydamaky" and means "...For us and souls of righteous men, and Archangel Michael's strength".
