Description
Third year of issue. Koala climbing a branch.
Obverse: The obverse depicts the Jody Clark design of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Royal Diadem crown on her head and the Victorian coronation necklace around her neck. She is encircled by text around the outer rim which includes her name "ELIZABETH II", the name of the issuing country "AUSTRALIA", the face value of the coin "1 DOLLAR", and the year "2009".
Reverse: The motif is a koala in its native habitat, usually resting on a branch. The background has the appearance of cracked glass. Below the central image is the inscription "1 OZ 999 SILVER" denoting the weight, content, and purity. The Perth Mint mint mark "P" is located on the branch.
